The University of Leeds Singaporean Society is organising an annual ball for Singaporeans to come together and celebrate our unique culture.
As per tradition, the University of Leeds Singaporean Society will Organise an annual ball for Singaporeans to come together and celebrate our unique culture. This year, we will be looking towards the future of Singapore and how we progress as a nation to tackle the problems we might face. As we come to an age that technology has become a great part of our lives, we wish to use this and share how the future Singapore could be shaped i.e. fully-automated Cars and underground network of roads. We wish that through this event, Singaporeans are able to take a look into our future and how we can adapt to it; what the different approaches can be made to preserve our tradition and culture despite the changes. The event will be a formal black tie event in Marriott Hotel of Leeds. Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal provided by the hotel. During the course of the meal, performances by fellow Singaporeans will take place. Concurrently, while there is no performances, there will be games held in relation to the future of Singapore. For example, a question on “what is the expected year that Jurong becomes Singapore’s second Central Business District?” The ball will also include photobooths with futuristic props and prizes for game winners. We hope that the props could also allow Singaporeans to forward to the bright future of Singapore whilst preserving our unique culture.
